Old Town Christian Outreach Center is a Nondenominational, Spirit filled church that has the mission of bringing hope to all people. We strive to create a friendly atmosphere that supports dignity, respect, and empowerment, showing Christ's love in action to everyone who visits us.

What is service like?

  • Services start at 9am and 11am. They go about an hour and a half each.

  • We start each service with praise and worship. We play modern songs with a mix of older songs (10+ years) and hymns. Hosting His Presence is our number one focus in our meetings.

    As a believer, worship should be the cry of our heart. We believe we should come to exalt Jesus in song, praises, action, and thought. This is the most important thing we do daily and during our services is surrendering our life to Jesus in worship. We believe everyone should come expecting to encounter Him.

  • After worship we teach directly from the Word of God. We believe the bible in its entirety. We believe the answer to everything we face in life is found in scripture.

    We focus primarily on the finished work of the cross, our relationship with Jesus, being the Temple of the Holy Spirit, and personal holiness.

    We approach the Scriptures from the context the Bible was written in and are not afraid to deal with the “weird stuff” in the Bible. We believe that it is only when undertanding the Bible in it’s original context that we can properly apply the Bible to our lives.

  • We believe in prayer and the power of prayer. We believe in, make room for, and experience the gifts of the Holy Spirit today.

    After each service we have elders and pastors available at the front to pray with you for whatever prayer need you have. We may also pray for healing, give a ‘tongue’ and interpretation, or share something the Lord has given us to speak, all consistent with the scripture and how the scripture teaches us about these things, to build up, encourage, and bring healing to the congregation. We have seen the Lord do wonderful things in our presence from healing people physically, emotionally, mentally, and spiritually, setting people free from addiction and sin on the spot, and much more. God is alive, active, and will move if we allow Him, we hope you’ll come expecting Him to move in your life!

Mission Statement

We are a church purposed on loving and following Jesus with all of our heart, soul, mind and strength, and loving others as ourselves. We are an outreach center that produces healthy families that produce healthy Christians who will love the Lord and advance the kingdom of God in Saginaw, the surrounding areas, and to the ends of the earth.

Our Beliefs

  • The Bible is the inspired Word of God, a revelation from God to mankind, the infallible rule of faith and conduct, and is superior to conscience and reason, but not contrary to reason. (2 Timothy 3:15-16; 1 Peter 2:2).

  • God is eternally self-existstent, and has revealed Himself by His Covenantal name YHWH (Yahweh). Yahweh is the Creator of heaven and earth and the Redeemer of mankind. He is truine in nature revealed as embodying the principles of relationship and association as Father, Son and Holy Spirit (Deuteronomy 6:4; Isaiah 43:10, 11; Matthew 28:19; Luke 3:22).

  • The Lord Jesus Christ is and always has been God (John 1:1-3; John 14:8-9; Revelation 1:8, 17, 22:13). Jesus Christ is the eternal Son of God. The Scriptures declare His virgin birth (Matthew 1:23; Luke 1:31; Luke 1:35), His sinless life (Hebrews 7:26; 1 Peter 2:22), His miracles (Acts 2:22; Acts 10:38), His substitutionary work on the cross (1 Corinthians 15:3; 2 Corinthians 5:21), His bodily resurrection from the dead (Matthew 28:6; Luke 24:39; 1 Corinthians 15:4), His exaltation to the right hand of God (Acts 1:9; Acts 1:11; Acts 2:33; Philippians 2:9-11; Hebrews 1:3).

    That man was created good and upright, for God said “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness.” But man, by voluntary transgression, fell, and his only hope of redemption is in Jesus Christ the Son of God (Genesis 1:26-31: 3:1-7; Romans 5:12-21).

    Man’s only hope of redemption is through the shed blood of Jesus Christ the Son of God. Salvation is received through repentance toward God and faith toward the Lord Jesus Christ. By the washing of regeneration and renewing of the Holy Spirit, being justified by grace through faith, man becomes an heir of God, according to the hope of eternal life (Luke 24:47; John 3:3; Romans 10:13-15; Ephesians 2:8; Titus 2:11; Titus 3:5-7). The inward evidence of salvation is the direct witness of the Spirit (Romans 8:16). The outward evidence to all men is a life of righteousness and true holiness (Ephesians 4:24; Titus 2:12).

  • The Holy Spirit is God (2 Corinthians 3:17). The Holy Spirit is the third person of the Godhead. He is co-equal, co-eternal and co-existent with the Father and with the Son. His ministry upon the earth is to convict and covert man as well as be the great paraclete (comforter, counselor, helper, intercessor, advocate, strengthener, and standby) to the Church. The baptism of the Holy Spirit is a gift from God as promised by the Lord Jesus to all believers and is received subsequent to and is distinct from the experience of New Birth. With it comes the enduement of power for life and service, the bestowment of the gifts and their uses in the work of the ministry (Luke 24:29; Acts 1:4; 1:8; 1 Corinthians 12:1-31). The Baptism of the Holy Spirit is meant to empower the believer to be a witness of Jesus Christ by the preaching and demonstration of the Gospel. The gifts of the Holy Spirit are also evidence of this experience. Whereas there is one initial baptism, there are many subsequent infillings of the Spirit. The ultimate purpose of the Baptism of the Holy Spirit is so that we, the believers, may have power to be witnesses (Matthew 3:11; John 14:16-17; Acts 1:8; Acts 2).

  • Man was created in the image of God. God shared many of His attributes with His creation. Man by voluntary transgression fell and thereby incurred not only physical death but also spiritual death, which is separation from God. (Genesis 1:26,27; Genesis 2:17; Genesis 3:6; Romans 5:12-19)

  • The Lord Jesus Christ, Head of the Church, established two ordinances for the Church to follow: Water Baptism and Communion. Baptism in water, by full immersion, is a direct commandment of our Lord. It is for all believers. This holy sacrament identifies the believer with Jesus in His death, burial and resurrection (Matthew 28:19; Acts 10:47-48; Romans 6:4; Acts 20:21; Hebrews 10:22).

  • The ordinance of Communion is also a commandment of the Lord Jesus that must be received consistently until His return. Only believers can come to the Table of the Lord, which consists of the bread and the cup. The bread – His body, which was broken for us. The cup – His blood that was shed for us. Both elements are witnesses of the New Covenant believers now enjoy while prophetically declaring His soon return (2 Peter 1:4; 1 Corinthians 11:26).

  • The Scripture teaches that without holiness no man can see the Lord (Hebrews 12:14). We believe in the Doctrine of Sanctification as a definite, yet progressive work of grace, commencing at the time of regeneration and continuing until the consummation of salvation at Christ’s return. (I Thessalonians 5:23; 1 Corinthians 1:30; 2 Corinthians 3:18; Philippians 3:12-14)

  • The Church is the body of Christ, the habitation of God through the Spirit with divine appointments for the fulfillment of the great commission. Each believer, born of the Spirit, is an integral part of the church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven (Ephesians 1:22-23; 2:22; Hebrews 12:33).

    A divinely called and scripturally ordained ministry has been provided by our Lord for the threefold purpose of leading the Church in: Evangelization of the world (Mark 16:15-20); worship of God (John 4:23,24); edification of the body of Christ (Ephesians 4:11-16).

  • All of the gifts of the Spirit are active and for the believer today. This includes but is not limited to prophesy, which is to be judged by scripture and shall never supersede or replace scripture; healing from sickness which is provided for in the atonement and is the privilege of all believers; praying in unknown and/or heavenly languages to build up the body (through interpretation) or build up the oneself. Gifts of the Holy Spirit including prophesy and speaking in unknown languages are a sign of Spirit Baptism. Spiritual gifts will cease when the perfect one comes, the perfect one is Jesus, not the canonization of scripture as there is no legitimate exigetical reasoning for the belief that gifts have ceased in the church era.

  • There will be a final judgement in which the wicked dead will be raised and judged according to their works. "Whoever is not found written in the Book of Life, together with the devil and his angels, the beast, and the false prophet, will be consigned to everlasting punishment in the lake which burneth with fire and brimstone, which is the second death." (2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21, 22).

  • “But according to his promise we are waiting for new heavens and a new earth in which righteousness dwells.” (2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21, 22).

  • We believe that God has established marriage as a lifelong, exclusive relationship between one man and one woman and that all intimate sexual activity outside the marriage relationship, whether heterosexual, homosexual, or otherwise, is immoral and therefore a sin. We believe that God created the human race male and female and that all conduct with the intent to adopt a gender other than one's birth gender is immoral and therefore sin. (1 Timothy 1:10; 1 Corinthians 6:9–10; Romans 1:26–27; Mark 10:6)
